Estate Agents Spread Goodwill At Christmas

Christmas is a special time for many and a burden for others, but with a little effort and goodwill memories can be made and stress eased.  Since its launch five years ago by Crawley Estate Agents Greenaway Residential, the Greenaway Residential Foundation continues to help local families throughout the year and particularly at Christmas time.

When the Foundation was set up in 2011 , they managed to deliver Christmas dinners to only five families and a steep inspired learning curve was embarked upon. This year the bar was raised further and on a cold Christmas Eve morning, over fifty families were helped this Christmas.

This year Greenaway Residential Foundation were helped with donations made from local businesses including Virgin Holidays, Morrisons supermarket and James A Harris & Sons Butchers in Smallfield. An incredible donation was made by Tesco, who supplied all the vegetables for every family ensuring much more was received for all.

The day started with receiving the final deliveries of the perishable goods and then a rush to get the parcels ready for collection and delivery. Families who arrived at Greenaway Residential Estate Agents in Crawley to collect their lunches were welcomed with Carols sung by the choir ‘Take Me Back’ who really embraced the spirit of the event. Free refreshments of mince pies, mulled wine and hot chocolate were also available. A final surprise visit from Santa Clause was also made, which lightened the mood of guests and many passers-by.

With several volunteering delivery drivers, all meals were successfully either delivered or collected by midday. The morning was then rounded off by the Greenaway Residential Foundation making a £500 donation to the choir. They have for the past month been raising money for St Catherine’s Hospice and their efforts have now risen above £3000.

After a restful Christmas the team at Greenaway Residential will start 2017 with a renewed energy to raise even more money for local causes which will be distributed by the company’s charitable side, the Greenaway Residential Foundation.
